Happy Holidays everyone
Nothing like a relaxing 4 days to get back in touch with everyone. Hot off the presses is an novel written by Mike Edison entitled- Dirty!Dirty!Dirty! If you enjoyed his first novel- I have fun everywhere I go, then this should be just has funny and entertaining a read. I can’t wait to get my copy. I’m still plugging away at my artist black comedy screenplay. it’ll be close, but I still hope to finish by the end of this year. Recently I watched a few clips of Bravo’s A work of Art reality show. I’m having a hard time liking it but I don’t hate it. I think there were a few nice pieces made so far, considering the time pressures etc, that they are under. And I do enjoy looking at the works themselves and listening to the critique round table discussions. But what’s with all the car plugs? cars.com AND fiat! come on. That grossed me out. Anyway, Enjoy this time and if you have any funny art world storys to share, please do.
Booo!
halloween is around the corner and full of creative opportunities. last night was the inaugural ALAVA film festival in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. It was interesting to see the amount of diversity and good will shared by all the talented people who participated. I’ve taken some time to create a merch page for my electronic project Spice Factory. If you like to support music , check it out and contribute for some one of a kind apparel. Trick or Treat?
Fall Art season is fast approaching
Break out your corderoy pants and fanels ’cause fall art is around the corner. Off the beaten path I’ve come across the new museum built in of all places Tasmania. It’s called MONA. An eccentric millionaire had it built to hold his collection. Interesting. Here in NYC it’s time for me to play catch up. Going to DUBSTEP it this week though. And here is a reminder to check out Alan Lupiani’s blog to gewt up to date . My new script is inching along plan is to finish by the holidays. If anyone has a great idea for the antagonist, let me know. cheers, happy art making and enjoying to all.

I hope everyone is enjoying the great outdoors as much as I am. Just giving you a heads up I be selling Artworks online via Ebay soon and creating a google check out to get the last of my signed limited edition prints. Summer is here
I got to enjoy all the sites and sounds of the Northside Festival and was graced by the Cecelia Post to answer questions I had about the Artist Collective she started up in Brookyln called the Fowler Arts Collective.
Tonight i hope to get down to the Bent Festival south of the BQE in Brookyln. There will be experimental music, art and more. So if you’re free tonight , come on down.
art of the ages
So , I’ve been back from France a few weeks which was fabulous. Didn’t see that much art but hey, I was on vaca. I did get a better sense of French culture and did I mention the awesome food? Many thanks to Hrag at Hyperallergic and Loren for letting me do some interviews on the current state of art in NYC. The more I dig the more I find I need to dig but also, the better the script will be. This weekend is a big studio tour of Greenpoint Brooklyn . Shame I missed the one 2 weeks ago in Bushwick. So If you are around maybe I’ll see you at the after party saturday at The End on Greenpoint av.
new art ideas
well I’m leaving for France. I plan to visit the paris artist neighborhood Belleville where all the artists live and exhibit their art. I also plan to walk in the foot steps of Cezanne in the south of France, Aix en Provence. Preparing for the trip I came across this very interesting French artist Gilles Tran. He does 3D art and it’s pretty amazing. Click on the image and drag your mouse and you’ll see. Enjoy his website. A bien tot.

What’s new? April 2011
The scoop is I just finished reading The Burnt Orange Heresy. It’s a 70′s noir novel about a Florida Art critic taken to the dark side. It’s being made into a film . I’m curious to see what they’ll do with it. It had it’s moments for sure. Description is not the writer’s forte I would say.
Another book I’m trying to dig into is Art School. Dense but current. The art world has changed dramatically and so it seems, should the schools that teach ‘the unteachable’. So much to do, so little time. Let me know what you think. peace
